Faith is measured by our confession

Matthew 12:33-37

"Make a tree good and its fruit will be good, or make a tree bad and its fruit will be bad, for a tree is recognized by its fruit. 34: You brood of vipers, how can you who are evil say anything good? For out of the overflow of the heart the mouth speaks. 35: The good man brings good things out of the good stored up in him, and the evil man brings evil things out of the evil stored up in him. 36: But I tell you that men will have to give account on the day of judgment for every careless word they have spoken. 37: For by your words you will be acquitted, and by your words you will be condemned."

The words that we speak can deliver us into salvation or they can bring about our condemnation. Our Lord and Savior teaches that what we say is the true indicator of what we are inside. Our spiritual self if you will. If we are spiritually good than we will speak from the good stored within us. We will also do good from the same spirit, and from that good confession and good works we will provide for our salvation. Good or evil we will one day stand in judgment for our choices. We as those made in the image of God have the power to change what we are through free will and God's Grace and mercy. All we need do is repent for our sins and accept Jesus as our Lord and Savior and we will be saved. Jesus also says that if you hear the word of God and put what you hear into practice you will be like a wise man who builds his house on a rock. A house built on a rock will with stand the winds and storms of the world. Hearing and following the word of God gives us a solid foundation upon which we can stand against the problems of the world.
