Glory to God thru whom all blessings flow.
As
I prayed in an effort to seek direction for this months
editorial comments the Holy Spirit moved me to teach on
gaining Divine Blessing.
Our
foundation scripture is
Proverbs
18: 21
The
tongue has the power of life and death,
and
those who love it will eat its fruit.
As
important as it is to realize what this scripture is
saying it is equally important to understand what it is
not saying.
The
scripture is saying that your tongue has the power of
life and death. Stop for a moment and think about what
this means. According
to the Holy word of God, the power of life and death is
in your control through your words.
It does not say that the power of life and death
is in the hands of God, nor does it say that the power of
life and death is in the hands of the devil. With this in
mind, we now know that we can directly influence our own
earthly existence with our own words.
We can speak life into our lives thru positive
confession. Positive confession is a biblical truth. Like
any other truth, it can be misused on the one hand, or
maligned on the other. The important thing is to accept
all biblical truth, including positive confession. Then
it is vital to walk in the light of all truth.
Positive
Confession means to agree with God in what one says, what
is the implication when we discover that one is not
“saying the same thing” that God says? We already
know that we can speak life into our lives by saying the
same thing that God says the converse is death or
malignances into our lives. When we discover that we are
not saying the same thing as God we need to do two
things. Firstly, we need to correct what it is we are
saying that is not in accordance with the word of God.
Secondly, we need to make a decision to change (repent)
and then agree with God.
By
listening to oneself and comparing one’s confession
with the Word of God, one can diagnose his own spiritual
pathology. Then, with God’s help, he can begin a course
of treatment. The logical progression of God’s work in
the Christian begins with God himself. God speaks,
producing the Word of God. The believer listens to
God’s word. The believer believes God’s Word. The
believer thinks in line with God’s Word. The believer
speaks in line with God’s Word. The believer acts in
line with God’s Word. Receiving the Word of God into
the heart produces New Testament faith. You create and
build your faith by hearing the Word of God. (Romans
10:17)
Armed
with the knowledge of the word of God we can begin to
fortify our lives with our own tongues. We can speak life
into our lives through positive confession. The word
confession in everyday usage has developed a negative
connotation, but in the Bible, the word confession means
to speak in accordance to the will of God. In other words
to say what God says.
Romans
10:9-10
That
if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus,
and shalt believe in Thine heart that God hath raised
him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
For
with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with
the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
Once
again, the Word tells us that salvation is in the power
of the tongue. Life
is in our control through our own words. Confession is
the trigger to all blessings according to the word of
God.
Matthew
10:32
Whosoever
therefore shall confess me before men, him will I confess
also before my Father which is in heaven.
Our
Lord and Savior Jesus the Christ clearly speaks to the
power of confession.
Mark
11:23
For
verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this
mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea;
and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that
those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall
have whatsoever he saith.
My
Lord and Savior teaches that if we confess our needs and
believe without doubt
We
can have whatever we ask. What you confess is your faith
speaking revealing its
Strength
or its weakness.,
It
is important to point out that what you confess has to be
in accordance to the Word of God.
We
are who God says we are in the Bible. We are new
creatures in Christ. We are the brothers and sisters of
my Lord and Savior Jesus the Christ. We are co-heirs to
the kingdom of heaven.
Matthew
12:50
For
whoever does the will of my Father in heaven is my
brother and sister and mother.
In
the blood of Jesus, we receive our spiritual identity
and inheritance that is eternal life.
By
faith, we receive the blessings of Abraham. The scripture
says that those who believe are children of Abraham. God
blessed Abraham materially.
Genesis
13:2
Abram
had become very wealthy in livestock and in silver and
gold.
Galatians
3:7-9
Understand,
then, that those who believe are children of Abraham.
The Scripture foresaw that God would justify the
Gentiles by faith, and announced the gospel in advance
to Abraham: "All nations will be blessed through
you." 9So
those who have faith are blessed along with Abraham,
the man of faith.
God
says we are his children co-heirs to the Kingdom thru
Christ Jesus, and that we have the blessings of Abraham.
It is imperative that we confess in accordance to what
God says about us regardless of what the circumstance
would indicate.
It really comes down to choosing whom you are to believe
your circumstance or God.

You probably receive lots of mail each day, much of it
unsolicited and containing unfamiliar but plausible
return addresses. Some of this mail uses social
engineering* to tell you of a contest that you may
have won or the details of a product that you might like.
The senders are trying to encourage you to open the
letter, read its contents, and interact with them in some
way that is financially beneficial—to them. Even today,
many of us open letters to learn what we've won or what
fantastic deal awaits us. Since there are few
consequences, there's no harm in opening them.
Email-borne viruses and worms operate much the same way,
except there are consequences, sometimes significant
ones. Malicious email often contains a return address of
someone we know and often has a provocative Subject line.
This is social engineering at its finest—something we
want to read from someone we know.
Email viruses and worms are common. If you've not
received one, chances are you will. Here are steps you
can use to help you decide what to do with every email
message with an attachment that you receive. You should
only read a message that passes all of these tests.
- The Know
test: Is the email from someone that you know?
- The Received
test: Have you received email from this sender
before?
- The Expect
test: Were you expecting email with an attachment
from this sender?
- The Sense
test: Does email from the sender with the contents as
described in the Subject line and the name of the attachment's
make sense? For example, would you expect the
sender–let's say your mother–to send you an email
message with the Subject line "Here you have,
;o)" that contains a message with attachment –
let's say AnnaKournikova.jpg.vbs? A message like that
probably doesn't make sense. In fact, it happens to
be an instance of the Anna Kournikova worm, and
reading it can damage your system.
- The Virus
test: Does this email contain a virus? To determine
this, you need to install and use an anti-virus
program. That task is described in Task 1 - Install
and Use Anti-Virus Programs of "Home
Computer Security."
You
should apply these five tests—KRESV—to
every piece of email with an attachment that you receive.
If any test fails, toss that email. If they all pass,
then you still need to exercise care and watch for
unexpected results as you read it.
Now, given the KRESV
tests, imagine that you want to send email with an
attachment to someone with whom you've never
corresponded—what should you do? Here's a set of steps
to follow to begin an email dialogue with someone.
- Since the recipient doesn't already Know
you, you need to send them an introductory email. It
must not contain an attachment. Basically, you're
introducing yourself and asking their permission to
send email with an attachment that they may otherwise
be suspicious of. Tell them who you are, what you'd
like to do, and ask for permission to continue.
- This introductory email qualifies as
the mail Received
from you.
- Hopefully, they'll respond; and if they
do, honor their wishes. If they choose not to receive
email with an attachment from you, don't send one. If
you never hear from them, try your introductory email
one more time.
- If they accept your offer to receive
email with an attachment, send it off. They will Know
you and will have Received
email from you before. They will also Expect
this email with an attachment, so you've satisfied
the first three requirements of the KRESV
tests.
- Whatever you send should make Sense
to them. Don't use a provocative Subject line or any
other social engineering practice to encourage them
to read your email.
- Check the attachments for Viruses.
This is again based on having virus-checking
programs, and we'll discuss that later.
The KRESV tests help you focus on the most important issues when
sending and receiving email with attachments. Use it
every time you send email, but be aware that there is no
foolproof scheme for working with email, or security in
general. You still need to exercise care. While an
anti-virus program alerts you to many viruses that may
find their way to your home computer, there will always
be a lag between when a virus is discovered and when
anti-virus program vendors provide the new virus
signature. This means that you shouldn't rely entirely on
your anti-virus programs. You must continue to exercise
care when reading email.

from "Home Computer Security" to help you make
decisions about opening email attachments.

There are many things you can do to put your career onto

ASK FOR GREATER RESPONSIBILITY

productive each year, with compounding, times 10 years,

Countless
salespeople experience the same situation: great product,
great benefits, proven track record, reasonable price
and, by all reasonable standards, it fits the prospect's
needs.
Nevertheless, the result is typically no sale and
a constant stream of calls not returned, appointments
canceled and frustration on the part of the salesperson.
Let's stop the madness!
I suggest that you take the advice that follows
and place it firmly into your sales process.
In the end, you will get more sales sooner and
golden referrals that are worth their weight in gold.
1.
Pre-qualify every one of your prospects before you call
on them.
Make sure they have a lot of characteristics in
common with your best customers.
This is the fastest way to a sale, as you will
only be approaching prospects likely to buy your product.
2.
Get a firm grip on what motivates your prospects.
I know that sounds simplistic, but you'd be
surprised how many times we salespeople forget the simple
fact that there are only two motivators that drive each
one of us (including our prospects).
The first is moving toward a reward or goal, and
the second is moving away from or avoiding fear or loss.
That is it!
Therefore, it is essential to establish whether
the prospect is moving toward a goal or away from a fear.
For
your business, try this question: "What's personally
important to you about creating a safer and healthier
environment for your employees/family/customers?”
Say your prospect responds with something like
"It's important for me to provide the best for my
people because they are the core of what keeps my
business running.”
Your prospect is moving toward the reward of
having happy and loyal employees.
If, on the other hand, your prospect says "If
I don't, they'll all leave and go work for my
competition!" then you clearly have a prospect that
wants to avoid fear and loss to their competition.
Here
is why it matters: A prospect that is moving toward a
reward will move more slowly and methodically and
evaluate all his options. However, the prospect that is
avoiding fear will grab the first option--and usually the
lowest price--that is close at hand--which, by the way,
may be nothing at all!
3.
Know what your prospect's personality style is. According
to personality theorist David Merrill (his research in
this area has been popular since the late '60s), there
are four very different styles: amiable, analytic, driver
and expressive. Merrill refined his research into a model
that is extremely accurate and effective in pinpointing
these different styles. What does this have to do with
selling?
Everything! You have heard the adages "People
buy from people they like," and "If you're like
someone, they'll like you.”
Well, Merrill has taken this a step further in
helping us understand how to interact and relate to the
four different styles.
In short:
Amiable:
Loves to relate on a personal basis; family and friends
come first. Think warm and fuzzy stuff. When approaching
this type of person, keep everything low-key, safe, and
secure.
They move slowly and resist change.
Analytic:
Needs facts, figures, statistics, research, and trends
with plenty of proof and demonstrations. They are very
methodical in their decision-making process.
They will demand proof for everything!
Expressive:
This prospect loves being the center of attention and
anything else that is happening!
This social butterfly is very opinionated.
Name-dropping will impress this prospect more than
anything else.
It is best to provide plenty of social proof about
your product with reprints of articles and pictures of
some "mover and shaker" standing in front of
your product.
Driver:
Demanding, fast moving, and quick to decide.
Whatever they say, they stick to it.
You had best be prepared to state your case in
less than 10 seconds to any prospect who is a
"driver.”
When you find yourself working with a driver, all
you need to do is quickly state what this person would
lose (fear motivator) or gain (reward motivator) by using
your product.
It
is not hard to see that your product pitch and approach
must be different with each of these four styles.
This means that "one size fits all"
thinking is out of the question when it comes to selling.
Closing
the Sale
4.
Coach your prospects; do not sell them. I know that we
have been taught how to sell.
After all, that is our job!
Problem is, most people have never been taught how
to buy.
We need to educate our prospects on our product
and on the process of buying.
Here are three steps to making this happen early
in your sales process:
Get
the prospect emotionally "connected" to the
situation your product can solve.
In your case, you want to get prospects to feel
the emotions of their loss or the potential risk of that
loss. Example:
"I understand that you recently had a break-in that
cost you $22,000 in damages.
How did you feel when you saw your front window
smashed into thousands of pieces?"
Establish
the total cost and/or value of the situation.
You need to create a total picture of what is at
risk by not using your solution or what the total benefit
of your solution is (fear- or reward-based motivation;
see above).
Example: "In addition to the financial loss,
what other areas in your business were impacted as a
result of your break-in?”
Now you can introduce lost business due to the
store's closure during repairs; the distraction, worry
and fear of employees; the bad publicity; and so on.
Whatever the case may be, make sure your prospect
agrees with the total that is established here.
In other words, these cannot be your numbers or
assumptions; they must be your prospects.
Connect
your product to the solution of the problem.
Now the prospect is ready for you to connect the
dots. Example: "Would you be interested in
eliminating any future (loss of revenues, risk of
break-ins, worry of employees/customers) with one simple,
inexpensive idea that's guaranteed and is used by 25
other store owners here in town?”
At this point, I strongly urge you to follow the
golden rule of selling: Simply keep quiet and listen to
what your prospect says.

When you came to life in Christ, Satan didn't curl up his tail

You don't have to be a defenseless hockey puck at the mercy of
Satan and his demons. God has already supplied the protection you
need to ward off any and every attack in the spiritual realm. You
just need to know what God has provided and to apply it to your
own experience. Your best defense against the god of this world
is to live a righteous life in Christ.
Some Christians are a little paranoid about evil powers,
suspecting that demons lurk around every corner just waiting to
possess them. That's an unfounded fear. Our relationship to
demonic powers in the spiritual realm is a lot like our
relationship to germs in the physical realm. We know that germs
are all around us: in the air, in the water, in our food, in
other people, even in us. But do you live in constant fear of
catching some disease? No--unless you're a hypochondriac! You
know enough about wellness to eat the right foods, get enough
rest, and keep yourself and your possessions clean. If you live a
balanced life, your immune system will protect you.
It's the same in the spiritual realm. Demons are like little
invisible germs looking for someone to infect. We are never told
in Scripture to be afraid of them. You just need to be aware of
their reality and commit yourself to live a righteous life in
spite of them. Should you come under attack, deal with it and go
on with life. Remember: the only thing big about a demon is its
mouth. Demons are habitual liars. In Jesus Christ, the Truth, you
are equipped with all the authority and protection you need to
deal with anything they throw at you.
Lord, I know that living a righteous life is my pathway to
experiencing freedom. I renounce Satan's lies and choose
righteousness today.


LIFE IS WORTHWHILE IF YOU... by Jim Rohn (Excerpted from
the Jim Rohn Two Day Weekend event - June 22 and 23, 2001)
1) First, life is worthwhile if you LEARN. If you know.
What you don't know WILL hurt you. You have to have
learning to exist, let alone succeed. Life is worthwhile
if you learn from your own experiences, negative or
positive. We learn to do it right by first sometimes
doing it wrong. We call that a positive negative. We also
learn from other people's experiences, both positive and
negative. I've always said it is too bad failures don't
give seminars. We don't want to pay them so they don't
tour around giving seminars. But the information would be
very valuable - how someone who had it all, messed it up.
Learning from other people's experiences and mistakes.
We learn by what we see - pay attention. By what we hear -
be a good listener. Now I do suggest being a selective
listener, don't just let anybody dump into your mental
factory. We learn from what we read. Learn from every
source. Learn from lectures, learn from songs, learn from
sermons, learn from conversations with people who care.
Keep learning.
2) Life is worthwhile if you TRY. You can't just learn; you
now have to try something to see if you can do it. Try to
make a difference, try to make some progress, try to learn
a new skill, try to learn a new sport. Life is worthwhile
if you try. It doesn't mean you can do everything but
there are a lot of things you can do, if you just try.
Try your best. Give it every effort. Why not go all out?
3) Life is worthwhile if you STAY. You have to stay from
spring until harvest. If you have signed up for the day
or for the game or for the project - see it through.
Sometimes calamity comes and then it is worth wrapping it
up. And that's the end, but just don't end in the
middle. Maybe on the next project you pass, but on this
one, if you signed up, see it through.
4) Life is worthwhile if you CARE. If you care at all you
will get some results, if you care enough you can get
incredible results. Care enough to make a difference.
Care enough to turn somebody around. Care enough to start
a new enterprise. Care enough to change it all. Care
enough to be the highest producer. Care enough to set some
records. Care enough to win.
Four powerful little words: learn, try, stay and care.
